Coaching is the art and practice of enabling individuals and groups to move from where they are to where they want to be. Coaching helps people expand their visions, build their confidence, unlock their potential, increase their skills, and take practical steps toward their goals.
Boy, this is a great question! Unlike counseling or therapy, coaching is less threatening, less concerned about problem-solving, and more inclined to help people reach their potentials. In counseling, the counselor will often tell you what to do, but in coaching, the coach helps the CLIENT come up with their own solutions through guided questioning and listening.
Cost varies depending on number of coaching sessions and self-discovery tools utilized (ie Strengths Finder, APEST, DISC, Values, etc). I have package options available to help save you money. Go to my PRICING page for more information.
Most generally, our one-on-one sessions will meet once a week and last 45-50 minutes each. Occasionally, there will be a need for more lengthy sessions.
My office is in my personal residence, but I have been using my church office to meet face to face with my clients. Otherwise, we can do phone conferencing or live video conferencing so you can be coached in the comfort and convenience of your own home. Most important is that you are totally alone and have a quiet, uninterrupted place to have a thoughtful conversation.
In short - the Lord Jesus Christ will be at the center of our coaching sessions. A Christian coach working with a Christian client will have a common foundation from which we operate - all under the Lordship of Christ. For Christians, everything we do is through the lens and guidance of God through the Holy Scriptures and in the power of His Holy Spirit. Problems, no matter how big or how small, all have theological roots that we can investigate and apply to our lives. This is one great benefit of our faith in Christ... He came to give us life and to have it more abundantly. He gives us supernatural perspective where worldly perspectives fail. He brings hope and power for change... real, lasting CHANGE to be and look more like Christ. Together, we will investigate how God has wired you, discover what you value most, and challenge you to grow in your faith and practice in all areas of your life.
Everything we say and do in our coaching sessions will remain in the strictest confidence. The only exceptions are in cases where bodily harm or injury are involved. In those cases, I am required by law to report them.
